This blue-green freshwater cyanobacteria were discovered by a Belgian botanist in the 60s, but it has inhabited the Earth for 3.5 billion years. It is a source of potassium, calcium, amino acids and, finally, chlorophyll. Research and studies show that it may have antioxidant, pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.
